Can someone tell me a step to step guide how to use IRC again?

So make sure you got a IRC client, downlad from http://www.mirc.com/get.html

Now go for: File - Select Server - Connect. Add Stratics, choose from

Stratics.frws.com USA - Colorado (ports 6667 6668 7000)
irc.glowfish.de EU - Germany (ports 6667 6668)
stratics.afraidyet.net USA - Texas (ports 6667 6668)
irc.gamers-irc.org USA - Colorado (ports 6667 6668 7000)

Now, choose a adequate Nickname - the one you use for this Forum/your primary Character is fine.

Once you've done that it's time to make sure noone else can take your Nickname.
To do this, type /msg NickServ@services.stratics.com register *yourpassword* *your E-mail*

upon successfully registration, you want IRC to auto-identify everytime you join Stratics.

Now go for: File - Select Servers - Connect - Options, check Connect on Startup. Open Perform, check Enable Perform on connect.
Add Line to List /msg NickServ@services.stratics.com identify *yourpassword*

Now you should be all set, Server - check, Nickname - check, Channels -
